Money school

The toolkit

The documents that make the money real.

8 copyable starting points: the interview that stops you building the wrong thing, the offer, the outreach, the supplier questions, the refund and referral terms, the launch checklist and the weekly dashboard.

These are starting points, not legal, tax or financial advice. Replace the bracketed parts with your facts and have a local professional review anything legal or tax-related before publishing.

Problem interview script

Use before building anything. Goal: facts about past behaviour, not opinions about your idea.

Hi [name] — I’m researching how [specific buyer] handle [situation]. I’m not selling anything.

1. Tell me about the last time [problem] happened.
2. What did you do first? Then what?
3. What did it cost you — money, hours, customers, stress?
4. What have you already tried or paid for?
5. Who else is involved in fixing it?
6. What would need to be true for you to fix this this month?
7. Is there anything I should have asked but didn’t?

After: write the exact phrases they used. Do not pitch unless they ask.

One-page offer outline

Use for the first site or a sales page. One buyer, one outcome, one action.

HEADLINE: [Outcome] for [specific buyer] — without [pain].
SUBHEAD: In [realistic time], using [mechanism].

WHO IT IS FOR: [one sentence].
THE PROBLEM: [what it costs them now].
WHAT YOU GET: [deliverable 1], [deliverable 2], [support].
WHAT IS NOT INCLUDED: [boundary].
HOW IT WORKS: 1) [step] 2) [step] 3) [step].
PROOF: [sample, screenshot, case study or demo].
PRICE: [number] with [payment terms].
RISK: [refund policy you can honour].
NEXT STEP: [one button].
FAQ: [three real objections].

Short value-first outreach

Use for a small targeted list. Personalise the first line or do not send it.

Subject: [specific observation]

Hi [name] — I noticed [specific thing] on [site/profile/listing].

I help [buyer type] fix [problem] so they get [outcome]. I made a short [teardown/checklist] showing three things you can fix yourself — no pitch.

Want me to send it?

If it is useful, I can show you how I would apply it to [their situation]. If not, no follow-up from me.

Supplier vetting checklist

Use before dropshipping or white-label. A sample is not a reliability test.

Supplier: [name] Product: [name]

[ ] Sample ordered and delivery timed
[ ] Stock level and restock time in writing
[ ] Processing time before tracking
[ ] Shipping methods, countries and real delivery window
[ ] Who pays for damaged, lost and returned items
[ ] Refund/return address and process
[ ] Certifications for the product category
[ ] Backup supplier identified
[ ] Second test order during a busy period
[ ] Landed cost: product + shipping + fees + packaging + expected returns

Decision: [ ] test [ ] negotiate [ ] reject

Refund and terms skeleton

Starting point, not legal advice. Have a local professional review before publishing.

REFUND POLICY — [Business name]

Digital products: [conditions, access/use restrictions, time window].
Services: [deposit, cancellation, rescheduling, work already delivered].
Physical products: [return window, condition, return address, who pays return shipping, damaged items].

How to request: email [address] with order number and reason.
Processing time: [time] after approval, via the original payment method.
Exceptions: [custom work, downloaded files, hygiene/regulated items — only where lawful].

This policy does not remove rights you have under local consumer law.

Referral / affiliate terms

Use before promising a reward. Keep it short, written and trackable.

REFERRAL PROGRAM — [Business]

Who can refer: [eligibility].
What counts: a new customer who pays and does not refund within [window].
Reward: [amount/percentage] paid [when] via [method].
Tracking: [unique link/code] or [name on checkout].
Exclusions: self-referrals, existing customers, fraudulent orders, prohibited traffic.
Disclosure: referrers must disclose the reward where required by law.
Tax: rewards may be taxable; the referrer is responsible for their own tax.
Changes: program terms may change with notice; rewards already earned are honoured.

Launch checklist

Use before sending traffic. If a box is unchecked, do not scale spend.

[ ] One buyer, one offer, one primary action
[ ] Headline states the outcome
[ ] Price, scope and refund policy visible
[ ] Real proof or a sample
[ ] Mobile layout tested
[ ] Checkout tested with a real payment and refund
[ ] Receipt and confirmation email tested
[ ] Analytics and one conversion event working
[ ] Support inbox monitored
[ ] Fulfilment SOP ready for the first order
[ ] Tax/reserve routine in place
[ ] Backup of site and product files
[ ] Stop rule for paid traffic
